Shropshire Safeguarding Community Partnership is committed to ensuring that there are multi-agency processes in place which apply across Shropshire. The aim of these multi-agency documents is to ensure that people and organisations from the independent, voluntary or public sector; who have contact with an adult(s) with care and support needs are able to effectively and collaboratively prevent and protect adults from abuse or neglect by:

  • understanding their own roles and responsibilities and;
  • having sufficient practical and legal guidance.

All organisations who work with adults with care and support needs have a statutory duty to safeguard adults as  prescribed in the Care Act 2014 and outlined in the Care and Support Statutory Guidance.

Shropshire is a member of the West Midlands Regional Adult Safeguarding Network and has signed up to the West Midlands Regional Adult Safeguarding Multi-Agency Policies and Procedures. Use the links on the right to take you to the local processes that sit under the West Midlands policy.
