Anti-Social Behaviour Week - 3rd to the 9th of July 2023

Following a hugely successful campaign in 2022, the return of Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week has been confirmed for 3rd - 9th July 2023!

The theme for 2023 is ‘Know Your Rights’, with a particular focus on the Anti-Social Behaviour Case Review - a powerful tool for victims that only 6% of people know about.

Every day will have a different focus as follows:

Monday 3rd: ASB Case Review Day - raising awareness of the ASB Case Review

  • Official parliamentary launch of ASB Awareness Week in Westminster
  • Resolve to publish the results from our most recent YouGov survey on ASB
  • Relaunching the ASB Case Review with the Home Office and other stakeholders (rebrand + relaunch mentioned in the Government’s ASB Action Plan)
  • Promoting public awareness of the ASB Case Review
    • www.bit.ly/ASB-victims
  • Sharing case studies and best practice examples of ASB Case Reviews

Tuesday 4th: Victims’ Day - highlighting areas where there is good victim support, acknowledging the harm ASB can cause to victims, raising awareness of victims' rights and pushing for victims of ASB to be included within the Victims and Prisoners Bill

  • Raising awareness of victims’ rights
    • www.bit.ly/ASB-victims
  • Pushing for victims of ASB to be included within the Victims and Prisoners Bill and asking the public to write to their MP

  • Promoting best practice in areas where Victim Support is funded (by PCCs or other)
  • Asking victims to come forward with their stories and highlighting these

Wednesday 5th: The Big ASB Conversation / 'Let's Talk About ASB' Day - encouraging people to host community safety meetings and talk about local ASB issues

  • The Big ASB Conversation meeting hosted by Neighbourhood Watch
  • Resolve also hosting a webinar for members
  • Encouraging organisations across the country to host community safety meetings with their colleagues / communities / residents / partners to discuss ASB issues in their local area
  • Highlighting good partnership work

Thursday 6th: ASB Heroes Day - celebrating officers, practitioners and organisations who excel and inspire with their response to ASB

  • Celebrating excellent practitioners/officers and organisations - highlighting case studies and best practice examples demonstrating an excellent response to ASB
  • Shining the light on our ASB Award finalists
  • Asking practitioners and officers to share a short clip talking about what you do, how you have responded well to a particular ASB case this year

Friday 7th: Young People’s Day - busting the myth of young people as the main perpetrators of ASB, highlighting young people as victims

  • Busting the myth of young people as the main perpetrators of ASB
  • Highlighting stories that show young people are often the silent victims of ASB
  • Youth organisations and Community Trusts supported through the Premier League Kicks programme hosting open days, ASB workshops and doing active outreach
  • Promoting organisations and initiatives that serve young people
